The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) is an international organization of collectives and individual persons constituted as an association. The vision of the Academy is to lead the way towards better understanding, improved management and future cure of allergies, asthma and immunological diseases. The official headquarter of the Academy is located in Zurich. The LSAI is a member society of the EAACI.
- NAS Committee:
The National Societies Committee is a platform which brings together three stakeholders, the European NAS, the Chairperson of the International Societies Council and EAACI representatives in order to facilitate constant communication and improve the collaboration on various issues and activities. The NAS Committee consists of one representative from each European NAS member of EAACI, a Chairperson nominated by the EAACI Executive Committee, a Secretary elected by the Committee's members and the Chair of the International Societies Council. LSAI delegates one member to the NAS Committee.
The National Unit of Immunology and Allergology, Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL) is specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. This unit supervises also the Aerobiology Station of the Ministry of Health.
- Pollen and mold spore monitoring:
Air pollen and mold spore concentrations are monitored on a regular basis (daily during peak seasons) in Luxembourg. Results are communicated through several channels. Daily counts and other relevant informations can be found via the Aerobiology Station of the Ministry of Health.
Research in the field of immune-related diseases including allergy is in the focus of the Department of Infection and Immunity, Luxembourg Institute of Health.
