The 2024 report on pollen and fungal spore monitoring in Luxembourg is now available. Conducted by the National Immunology-Allergology Department, it provides a comprehensive overview of airborne allergen levels and their clinical relevance throughout the year.

The findings highlight the main pollen seasons, including tree, grass and herbaceous species, as well as key trends in fungal spores such as Cladosporium and Alternaria.

Key Insights

The 2024 season was characterized by a typical tree pollen period, followed by a prolonged grass pollen season extending into the summer months. Late-season allergens, including mugwort and ragweed, were also observed.

Fungal spore concentrations remained relatively low compared to previous years, although Cladosporium continued to dominate among airborne spores.

These data provide valuable insights for understanding seasonal allergy patterns and supporting patient care.
