Since 1983, LSAI has promoted research, education, and collaboration in allergy and immunology to improve healthcare and raise awareness.

Advancing Science

The Luxembourg Society for Allergology and Immunology ( LSAI) brings together clinicians, both private or hospital based, as well as scientist working in the fields of allergy and immunology. Its goals are to develop and communicate knowledge on allergic and immune diseases.

Special emphasis is given on integrating excellence in clinical management and in translational and applied research. This is to be achieved in collaboration with national and international partners who share the same goals.

Population & Demographics

Located at the heart of Europe, Luxembourg has a population of 670 000 residents. In addition, some 230 000 frontier commuters from our neighboring countries cross the border each day to work in Luxembourg.

Immune Diseases

Immune-mediated and allergic diseases represent a public health concern of pandemic proportions affecting up to 50% of people that are covered by national health insurances.

Allergic and other immune mediated diseases commonly start at a young age or very young age and tend to become chronic. They can lead to organ damage or be responsible for acute life-threatening situations.

Besides, their impact on health, they have a major influence on education, work capacity, career development and choice of lifestyle.
